I received an e-mail invitation to a birthday party today, and the hostess had an interesting spin on the whole RSVP issue:
"No need to RSVP- surprises are fun!"
I found it quite amusing, especially since the party is being held in a pretty small apartment with limited space. But it's a neat idea. You just wait and see who shows up and adjust accordingly. I wish I could live life like that.

sort of...I told her I was planning to come. But I didn't send an e-mail or anything.
And why can't I live like that? If I didn't try to plan everything, I have a feeling I would be even more neurotic than I already am.
