Today our university president is being officially inaugurated. It's supposed to be a hugely big to-do, complete with academic processionals, surprise gifts, heartfelt speeches, and more. It is the culmination of a weeklong blitz of lectures, worship services, and receptions. A lot of important people are supposed to be coming, dignitaries from universities all over, even Jesse Helms. The weather is calling for showers, and it is crazily windy out there-- it doesn't look like Mother Nature approves of this situation wholeheartedly. Bugs thinks it would be funny if it rained, but seeing as I have to sit through the affair, I'm praying for a miracle. Sunny skies, calm winds, and 100-degree temperatures. One can only hope.
